A few years ago, building your own app, website or automated workflow meant learning to code or hiring a developer. Today, you can describe what you want in plain language and AI will build much of it for you. This course shows you how.

You will create a custom AI assistant, build small interactive tools by describing them, put together a simple website, connect apps so routine tasks happen automatically, and learn how to test and share what you make safely. Every topic includes worked examples showing real prompts and results, plus a “Try it yourself” exercise.

Your capstone project

In Lesson 1 you will choose one real problem in your life, home, community or small business. Each lesson then adds a piece, so by the end you will have built something you actually use. Example capstones from this course:

  • A family chore chart app with points and weekly rewards
  • A custom “garden coach” assistant that knows your yard and climate
  • A one-page website for a book club, with an automated monthly reminder email
  • A price-quote calculator for a small cleaning or tutoring business

What you will learn

  • How to choose and scope a small project that is worth building
  • How to set up a custom AI assistant with instructions and reference files
  • How to build simple apps and web pages by describing them, then test and improve them
  • How no-code automations work (triggers and actions) and how to build your first one
  • How to test, share and protect what you build, and when a project needs a professional

Who this course is for

Anyone comfortable chatting with an AI assistant. It follows How AI Works and Working with AI, but if you can write a clear request to an AI, you’re ready. No coding experience is needed.

What you will need

An AI assistant (free versions of the major assistants can handle most exercises; some features, such as custom assistants or publishing, may need a paid plan or a free account with another service). Plan on 4 to 6 hours including your capstone. Tool names and menus change often, so the course teaches skills and patterns that work across products, with named tools given as examples only.
