Artificial intelligence is now part of everyday life: it filters your email, recommends what to watch, translates languages, drives cars, and answers questions in conversational chat assistants. Yet for most people, how it actually works remains a mystery.
This course opens the black box. In six short lessons you will move from the basic idea of “a machine that learns” all the way to how today’s large language models generate text, where AI shows up in the world, and what its real limits and risks are. Everything is explained in plain language with everyday analogies. No math, statistics or programming background is needed.
What you will learn
- What AI is, what it is not, and how the field developed
- How machines learn patterns from data, and the three main kinds of machine learning
- How neural networks work and why “deep learning” changed everything
- How large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini produce answers, and why they sometimes get things wrong
- Where AI is used today, from image recognition to AI agents
- The main risks (bias, privacy, misinformation) and practical habits for using AI tools well
Who this course is for
Curious beginners, students, professionals, managers and educators who want a clear, accurate mental model of AI so they can use it confidently and talk about it intelligently.
How the course works
Each lesson contains three short topics (about 5 minutes of reading each) followed by a 5-question quiz. A final assessment at the end checks your understanding of the whole course. Plan on about 2 to 3 hours in total.
